Marshal's View
|
My first trip to Kirkistown was made with great trepidation. I had never been to a circuit other than Mondello before and had no idea how I would be received by a new marshalling club.
I was made welcome, great effort was made to ensure that I was looked after - both in practical terms i.e. where the loos are, where to procure food - and in personal terms i.e. making sure I had someone to talk to and wasn't sitting on my own for lunch etc.
I had the absolute time of my life and I have only missed one day at Kirkistown since (due to work commitments).
BMMC(NI) gave me a whole new outlook on how marshalling clubs can be run and just how much fun you can have whilst marshalling. I would recommend them to anyone - whether you're just starting out in marshalling or have experience and are looking to broaden your horizons.
